Each particle species in the Standard Model has characteristic energy scales that determine which electromagnetic frequencies are required to probe, confine, and control it. The frequency ladder maps these requirements from legacy radio telemetry through the Planck limit. Each band corresponds to a physically distinct material regime: the logic gates change, the substrate changes, the shielding changes, and the class of particle that becomes accessible changes.

The ladder is not a metaphor. It is an engineering roadmap. The lower bands are where Aetheric Sciences ships product. The upper bands are where the rest of the Standard Model becomes reachable.

BAND 0 — LEGACY
RADIO — kHz to MHz
Telemetry and wake signals only. Long-range coordination between Mote sensor networks and base receivers. No particle control at this frequency. Aetheric listens here; it does not compute here.
BAND 1 — SILICON CEILING
MICROWAVE — GHz
The operating band of all conventional CMOS processors. 5 GHz is the practical maximum before gate-oxide leakage dominates. NV-center spin manipulation occurs via resonant microwave fields in this band. Particle access: electron spin control (auxiliary channel).
BAND 2 — PRIMARY COMMERCIAL
TERAHERTZ — THz
The Aetheric Processor operates here. Quantum coherent effects become exploitable without cryogenics. Matrix operations, photonic neural inference, real-time sensor fusion. Particle access: electrons and photons (Tier 1). This is the shipping band.
BAND 3 — NEAR INFRARED
100 THz — AETHER-BLADE
Near-infrared laser sources couple into diamond waveguides with sub-dB insertion loss. Holographic memory access, Boltzmann machine optimization. Particle access: photon state encoding at maximum channel density. The Blade product operates here.
BAND 4 — MAXIMUM PHOTONIC DENSITY
VISIBLE LIGHT — 400–800 THz — AETHER-CORE
Maximum data density achievable with light before entering the ultraviolet. Wavelengths of 400–700 nm permit the tightest waveguide pitch in diamond. A photon at this frequency carries frequency, phase, and polarization simultaneously — a natural qudit, not a binary bit. Particle access: full photon quantum-state exploitation. Molecular dynamics simulation, global-scale optimization.

Above Band 4, the ladder extends into regimes where current solid-state substrates do not survive. These bands define the engineering path toward Tier 2, 3, and 4 particles:

Band 5: Hard Radiation — EHz (1018 Hz). Soft X-ray carrier frequencies. Requires hardened C-12 diamond transparent to X-rays. At this frequency, computation proceeds faster than chemical bond formation. Relevant to Cellular Foundry atomic-resolution molecular dynamics. Particle access: muon detection and characterization become tractable at these energy densities (Tier 2 boundary).[13]

Band 6: Gamma — ZHz (1021 Hz). Nuclear photonics — interaction with atomic nuclei rather than electron shells. No material currently survives sustained gamma-frequency switching. Particle access: quark-gluon interactions become observable. This is the Tier 3 entry point. Requires shielding and confinement infrastructure from Stellar Furnace and Antimatter Production.

Band 7: Sub-Atomic — YHz (1024 Hz). Gluon-mediated computation at nuclear energy scales. Particle access: W±, Z° boson interaction timescales. No known implementation path. Would require a dedicated Stellar Furnace for power.

Band 8: Planck Limit — 1043 Hz. One operation per Planck time. The absolute ceiling — the frame rate of spacetime itself. Particle access: Higgs field coupling. Not a product tier. A statement about the structure of reality that Metric Infrastructure maps but no engineering program can approach.
